The brand's growth in Italy and abroad has led to the modernization of the facility, which now boasts three tunnel kilns and two cell kilns. The departments that shape and color the ceramics, staffed by skilled decorators, are housed in a large covered facility built in the 1970s. These include technical areas for storing semi-finished products, packaging, and outdoor handling spaces. The covered area totals approximately 7,000 square meters out of a total of 11,000 square meters.
STORAGE OF CLAY MATERIAL Warehouse where the clay is stored in already filtered and selected loaves for production by the world's leading ceramic product manufacturing company: COLOROBBIA SPA;
TRANSFER
It allows production to be fed by distributing the necessary material to the workstations (presses or "degassing machines" for lathes) and subsequent fractionation of the blocks to feed the presses;
STAMPING
The clay takes shape through presses or manual working on lathes;
FINISHING
It consists in completing the object and/or applying the handles;
DRYING
the newly created product is dried, the humidity is reduced from approximately 23% to approximately 2% through a natural process, which takes from 24 to approximately 72 hours;
COOKING
The dried product is fired in a kiln at a temperature of around 1,000°C. This triggers the chemical and physical processes that transform the clay into terracotta (raw products). The classic red color is caused by the oxidation of the iron contained in the clay, a direct consequence of the high temperature. The raw product, at this point, can be sold in this state or can undergo further processing;
SELECTION OF SEMI-FINISHED PRODUCTS
At this stage, the so-called biscuit is selected and made available for glazing, eliminating any small imperfections that the process may cause;
ENAMELING
The raw terracotta object is immersed in a dense liquid (glaze or enamel) which, following the firing phase, gives the ceramic product its classic shiny surface;
DECORATION
Carried out with brushes, airbrushes and sponges, it gives taste and style to the basic product prepared with the first firing. In many cases, the decoration is supported by the use of decals obtained from original drawings;
SECOND COOKING
The glazed and decorated ceramic product is subjected to a second firing that imparts gloss to the objects through a vitrification process. Once waterproof, it can hold liquids without perspiration.
PACKAGING OR PALLETIZATION.
